The Warriors Pentathlon and Athletic Club took advantage of the Easter break to run at parkrun events at locations as far apart as Dundee and Milan.
There were lots of new ‘personal bests’ and fun across all the races, but the two outstanding results came from 11-year-old Issy Beddow winning the senior women’s race in Milan, and 15-year-old Oberon Kearney winning the Birkenhead parkrun outright, running under 17 minutes for the first time.
The best performances of the weekend however were at the famous and historic Rivington Pike fell race. A race with a long an illustrious history of over 120 years, it takes place each Easter weekend, and features a demanding 800ft ascent.
This year, two of the Warriors’ finest fell runners took on the challenge; Jamie Barnes (2022 N Wales Fell Champion) and Meg Hoshiko (2022 English Fell Champion). They did not disappoint, both winning the U17 titles against stiff opposition from across the Peak District.
