Merseyside Police has traced two women in connection with this incident and has requested the removal of CCTV images in connection with the case.
Merseyside Police has issued images of two women who may have information that could assist enquiries following a reported assault on New Brighton promenade.
At around 6.30pm on Monday 27 March, it was reported that a woman in her 40s was walking her dog along the promenade when she became involved in an altercation with two other female dog walkers.
During the incident, the woman was assaulted and had part of her hair pulled out.
Shortly later, the victim saw the two women once more on King’s Parade.
This time, the woman was knocked to the ground and had her head pushed into a shallow stream of water, during which time she found it difficult to breathe.
Detective Inspector Dave Sung said, “This was a nasty attack that left a woman with injuries, including having her hair pulled out and her head pushed into water.
“If you are either of these two women pictured in these images, please come forward as we believe you may have information that could assist our enquiries.
“Alternatively, if you know who these women are, please get in touch.”
