Woman sought after Merseyrail staff member assaulted at Moorfields

Officers investigating an assault on a member of rail staff have today released an image in connection with the incident.

At around 9pm on Saturday 26 August, at Moorfields station, Liverpool, the victim, a member of Merseyrail staff, refused entry to a woman at the ticket barrier who he didn’t believe was fit to travel.

The woman responded by becoming aggressive and abusive, grabbing the victim’s Body Worn Video and throwing it across the concourse before slapping him across the head.

Officers believe the woman in the CCTV image could have information about the incident which could assist their investigation.

Anyone who recognises the person is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 2300100361 of 26 August.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
