Woman sexually assaulted on train

British Transport Police (BTP) Detectives investigating a sexual assault onboard a Liverpool train have today released this CCTV image.

Shortly before 5.30pm on Tuesday 9 May, the victim offered to help assist a man in a wheelchair and a female accompanying him as they disembarked a service travelling from Waterloo to Liverpool Central Railway Station.

The female suggested that if the victim could escort the man from the train then she would take the wheelchair.

As the victim attempted to guide the man from the train he sexually assaulted her.

Detectives would like to speak to the man in the image who they believe may have information that could help their investigation.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 495 of 09/05/23.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
