Merseyside Police has confirmed that a 93-year-old woman involved in a collision in Netherton on Saturday (4 December) has sadly died in hospital following the incident.
It was reported three cars – a black Audi Q3, a blue Audi A4 and a black Ford Galaxy – were in collision on Dunnings Bridge Road at its junction with Park Lane West at about 12.25pm.
Emergency services attended and four of the occupants of the vehicles were treated at the scene for injuries.
Two were taken for further treatment at hospital and one of them, a 93-year-old female who was a passenger in the Audi Q3, sadly died yesterday (Tuesday 7 December).
All three drivers stopped at the scene and are assisting with ongoing police enquiries.
Roads Policing Sergeant Steve Smith said, “It was with great sadness that we learned that the lady involved had died following this collision and we are supporting her family through what will be a very difficult time.
“Our enquiries continue, and we have spoken to a number of witnesses and retrieved dashcam footage from vehicles nearby.
“As our investigations progress, we are still keen to speak to anyone who has not yet come forward with information.
“If you witnessed the collision or captured anything on dashcam or other devices, please get in touch – your information could prove vital to our investigation.”
