Woman charged with murder of man in Everton

Merseyside Police has confirmed that a 30-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a man in Everton.

Emma Walsh, of Lavan Close, Everton, was charged with the murder of 36-year-old Gary Morgan. 

Mr Morgan, who is from the Prescot area, was found with a puncture wound to the side of his body at around 11.30pm on Sunday 10th April. He was taken to hospital where he died a short time later.

Walsh was remanded into custody to appear at Merseyside Domestic Violence Remand Court today, Tuesday 12 April.

A 60 year-old man also arrested has been released under investigation pending further enquiries. 

The family of Gary Morgan have paid the following tribute: “Gary was a caring lad who brightened everyone’s day who was taken far too soon. He was a loving father, son and brother who will be missed by all.”

A post mortem revealed that 36 year-old Gary, from the Prescot area, died from a stab wound to the chest.

At the time of the incident, Detective Chief Inspector Mark Drew said, “Although we have made two swift arrests in the area our investigation is still in the very early stages as we try to establish exactly what happened therefore it is vital that anyone with information that could assist our enquiries gets in touch.

“This was a tragic incident in which a man has sadly lost his life. If you live in the area and witnessed the incident, or saw any suspicious behaviour last night on Lavan Close please contact police immediately. Any information, no matter how small, may prove vital to our investigation.”
