Wirral Wave Radio CIC celebrates third year

Community radio station, Wirral Wave, celebrates it’s third year of broadcasting to the Wirral and beyond, this June.

Now based in Make CIC, the station first broadcast in June 2019 from West Kirby before moving to Hamilton Square, Birkenhead in 2021.

The Station has gone from strength to strength, over the past three years, including going from three presenters to twenty-six who each cover a wide range of shows from music to local events to mental well-being and mind fullness.

With each new talent, the station’s range of music grows from country to jazz, blues and pop with everything from the 1920s to the current top one-hundred, so there truly is something for everyone. Staffed entirely by volunteers, Wirral Wave isn’t just targeted towards the community, it is the community.

Through sponsorship and public donations we are able to provide an uninterrupted selection of shows and music. And thanks to being an internet station, our listenership are able to connect from all corners of the world.

To celebrate their third anniversary the team would love to hear from you! If you or your organisation has a community story to tell then please get in contact us via our email studio@wirralwave.co.uk  or on our Facebook page, for your chance to feature in our community dedicated show ‘The Spirit of Wirral’.

Station Manager Paul Harris said, “We are so proud to be the community radio voice for The Wirral, as well as providing great entertainment over the past couple years and for many years to come”.
