A Birkenhead-headquartered R&D tax specialist has been shortlisted for four business awards, recognising the company’s success over the last 12 months.
Wirral-based Access2Funding has been nominated for a category in the Growing Business Awards, a category in the Enterprise Vision Awards, a category in the Women in Finance Awards and two categories in the City of Liverpool Business Awards (COLBA).
The Growing Business Awards honour the UK’s most outstanding entrepreneurs and high-growth businesses and Access2Funding is a finalist in the ‘B2B Business of the Year’ category.
In the Enterprise Vision Awards, celebrating the North West’s most talented female entrepreneurs, Access2Funding’s CEO Dawn Coker is a finalist in the ‘2021 Business Woman of the Year’ category.
The Women in Finance Awards 2021 promote the importance of an inclusive finance sector and Access2Funding is a finalist in the ‘Employer of the Year up to 250’ category.
Finally, the tax specialist is a finalist in the COLBA’s ‘Employer of the Year 2021’ and ‘Business of the Year 2021’ categories, highlighting the significant contribution the company has made to economic growth in the city region.
Dawn Coker, CEO of Access2Funding, said, “Receiving recognition for our growth and success during the last 16 months feels more poignant than ever as I have been so inspired by the resilience and innovation of our clients across the UK amidst such a difficult backdrop.
“Access2Funding helped hundreds of businesses in 2020 claim back thousands of pounds in R&D tax credits from HMRC – money that they rightly deserved for their innovative projects. For many businesses, this money provided a lifeline, enabling them to keep their doors open through the COVID-19 pandemic and for others, enabled them to invest back into their businesses or employ more people.”
Access2Funding more than quadrupled its workforce during the COVID-19 pandemic and increased its turnover by 119% year on year.
The winners of the three awards will be announced later in the year, with the first award ceremony being for the Enterprise Vision Awards at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on Friday 24 September.
