Wirral Schools’ ensembles bring Christmas cheer to Gordale

Get into the swing of Christmas at Gordale Garden Centre and snap up your decs and gifts to the accompaniment of carols from the Wirral Schools’ ensembles.

On Wednesday, 13 December, Edsential Musical Routes (pictured above at a recent concert at the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral) will be entertaining Gordale customers with their Choir, Orchestras and Concert Band to provide a feast of festive music for late-night Christmas shoppers.

“The past few years have been difficult for musicians as the pandemic greatly affected making music,” says Helen Chetwood of Edsential.

“Our tutors have worked very hard to ensure music thrives once again and are very proud of their ever-growing ensembles. Learning an instrument and joining an ensemble helps children to listen, co-operate, concentrate, co-ordinate and develop manual dexterity, memory, self-control, imagination and confidence.

“Learning with new friends as part of a group is part of the fun and the benefit of joining a music centre with like-minded young people. Young people can develop their musical talent and experience in our ensembles and choirs.

“I am so proud of all our young musicians and hope this event can help to inspire other young people to learn an instrument and join an ensemble or choir.”
