Over the weekend of 3 and 4 September, there is a chance to visit RNLI Lifeboat stations across Wirral.
On 3 September between 11am and 4pm Hoylake and West Kirby RNLI invite you to Hoylake Lifeboat station to get the chance to see the lifeboats up close.
Visitors will be able to see Hoylake’s all-weather Shannon Class lifeboat Edmund Hawthorn Micklewood and Inshore Rescue Hovercraft Hurley Spirit, along with the Shannon Launch and Recovery System (SLARS). Also on display will be West Kirby’s inshore lifeboat Seahorse, with its Hagglund BV206 launch vehicle.
The Wirral Coastguard Team will also be there on Saturday with the volunteer crew showcasing how they all work together to save lives at sea.
There will be a wide range of RNLI gifts and souvenirs as well as prizes on the tombola with refreshments.
Parking on North Parade is limited, so the crew advise walking or public transport where possible.
On Sunday 4 September, the New Brighton RNLI crew invite you to their station from 10am to 4pm to come and meet the crew. There is also chance to hear all about the inshore B class Atlantic lifeboat, Charles Dibdin and Launch Tractor.
There will be a wide range of stalls and refreshments available as well as RNLI gifts, souvenirs, toys, Christmas cards and 2023 calendars.
