Drink driver crashes Tesla into lamppost at Woodside

Merseyside Police arrested a man following a collision in Woodside on Monday 2 May.
At around 6.30am, police received a report that a black Tesla car was in collision with a lamppost on Woodside Ferry Approach.
Officers attended and arrested a 48-year-old man from Bebington on suspicion of drink driving.
Man in court over Tranmere hate crime assault

Merseyside Police has charged a 23-year-old man following an assault in Tranmere at the weekend.
Robert Eaton, aged 23, of Woodchurch Road, Oxton has now been charged with Section 47 assault, attempted Section 18 wounding and possession of an offensive weapon.
He was remanded into custody and appeared at Wirral Adult Remand Court on Tuesday 3 May.
Man dies in Birkenhead flat fire

Emergency services were called out to a fire at a property in Birkenhead on Monday 2 May.
Fire crews, police and North West Ambulance Service were called to a serious fire at a flat in Laurence Deacon Court, St. Anne Street, Birkenhead during the evening.
Fire crews were alerted at 8.45pm and on the scene at 8.48pm. Three fire engines were in attendance
Man crashed car through barriers at Birkenhead ferry terminal

Merseyside Police has arrested a man following an incident at Birkenhead Twelve Quays Ferry terminal on Tower Road on Wednesday 4 May.
At around 8.10am, an officer checked a black Kia Sorrento car waiting to board a ferry.
The vehicle drove off from the scene in the direction of Tower Road, crashing through barriers and damaging three other cars.
Birkenhead HGV driver claimed sneezing fit caused fatal collision

An experienced HGV driver claimed a sneezing fit led to him ploughing into the back of a car on the A1, killing its driver.
Raymond Buff, 55, failed to stop for stationary traffic on the southbound carriageway near Eaton Socon at about 6.40pm on 9 December, 2019.
Buff’s HGV collided with the rear of a silver Volkswagen Golf being driven by 39-year-old Matthew Mitchell, of Emlyns Gardens, Stamford.
Two arrests at tunnel entrance after police smell cannabis coming from car

Merseyside Police arrested two men after a car was stopped at the Wallasey Tunnel entrance in the early hours of Thursday 5 May.
A grey Fiat Punto came to the attention of police on Gorsey Lane, Wallasey after an officer in a vehicle behind smelled cannabis.
The car was stopped a short time later at the tunnel entrance for a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act at the approach to the Wallasey tunnel at around 12.30am.
Three arrests following West Kirby burglary

Merseyside Police has arrested three males following a burglary in the West Kirby area.
On Sunday 1 May, at around 3.15am, police received a report of a shed being broken into on Covertside, off Grammar School Lane.
It was reported that the suspects made off without taking anything from the shed.
Appeal following assault at Beehive pub in Tranmere

Merseyside Police is appealing for information following an assault in a pub in Tranmere last weekend, on Saturday 30 April.
At around 9.45pm, police received a report that a man was assaulted by three unknown males in the Beehive pub on Church Road.
The suspects were reported to have made off from the pub on foot following the incident.
