Seven injured in serious RTC in New Brighton

Merseyside Police is appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision in New Brighton on Sunday 28 May.
At around 9.50pm it was reported that a grey Audi A1 and a white Fiat 500 being driven on Coastal Drive had been involved in a collision.
There were seven people inside the two cars, who were all women, and they were all injured.
Port Sunlight Neo-Nazi jailed for terrorism related offences

A man from Port Sunlight who was charged with firearm, ammunition, and offensive weapon offences and later pleaded guilty to terrorism-related offences has been jailed for 7 years and 6 months.
Following an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW), Alan Madden was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on 30 May 2023.
The sentencing followed an earlier guilty plea in relation to the following offences: possession of a firearm, possession of 384 rounds of both 9mm hollow point and 9mm Kurz ammunition and possession of offensive weapons – namely nun chucks and a flick knife.
Man assaulted by group of youths in West Kirby

Merseyside Police is appealing for information after a man was assaulted in West Kirby on Monday 29 May.
At around 5.15pm, it was reported that a man in his 50s had been assaulted by a group of youths in Ashton Park, next to the lake, and struck to the head with a bike seat.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of his injury and was later discharged.
Dogs Die in hot cars

Please don’t leave your four-legged friend in your vehicle during hot weather.
Dogs can overheat really quickly, even with a window open, and with access to water.
If you see a dog in distress call 999.

Elderly woman verbally abused during Woodchurch burglary

Merseyside Police is appealing for information following a burglary at a home in Woodchurch in the early hours of Wednesday 31 May.
At around 12.30am, it was reported that a man had broken into the property of an elderly woman on Pemberton Road.
While inside, the man searched a bag and took a purse and a bracelet. He also verbally abused the woman before fleeing the scene.
Woman seriously injured in collision on Telegraph Road

Merseyside Police is appealing for information following a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a motorbike in Thurstaston on Friday 2 June.
Just after 6am, police received a report of a collision near to the entrance of Caldy Rugby Club.
The collision involved a female pedestrian and a motorbike being driven on Telegraph Road.
‘Openspace’ initiative to enhance safety and enjoyment in Wirral’s parks and beaches

To mark the start of the welcomed summer months and warmer weather, Merseyside Police is leading a new initiative to make sure that anyone who plans to visit Wirral’s open spaces, beaches and parks has a safe and enjoyable time.
This initiative, called ‘Openspace’ will see us working alongside a range of partners to prevent serious violence and anti-social behaviour in key tourist hotspot areas, concentrating on popular parks throughout the Wirral and along the coastal areas in West Kirby and New Brighton.
Merseyside Police, working together with Wirral council, Wirral Coast Guard, Wirral Park Rangers, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, and British Transport Police, want to ensure that people can make the most of their open spaces and the sunshine, by preventing crime and therefore increasing their safety and the quality of life.
