Three men armed with weapons search for person at Arrowe Park Hotel

Merseyside Police is appealing for information following an incident in Woodchurch on Monday, 27 June.

At around 5.50pm a number of reports were received that three men ran into the Arrowe Park Hotel, Arrowe Park Road, armed with weapons saying they were looking for someone.

The men quickly searched the premises before running out and getting into a silver car, possibly a BMW.

Liscard man handed 10 year football banning order

A Wirral man has been given a 10 year football banning order.

Tranmere Rovers fan Joshua Doyle, 25, ofLiscard, was detained on 30 April at the final home game of last season when Tranmere played Oldham Athletic.

Following the game there was disorder between home and away fans on Borough Road and Doyle was detained at the scene by an officer.

‘Knife Angel’ statue escorted to Birkenhead Park

A 27-foot-high sculpture of an angel has been installed at the Grand Entrance to Birkenhead Park as part of a nationwide campaign tour highlighting the reality of knife and other violent crime.

The Knife Angel will be visiting Birkenhead between 1 and 31 July 2022 as part of its National Anti-Violence Tour. It will be located at the Grand Entrance to Birkenhead Park.

Merseyside Police Roads Policing Unit escorted the delivery through to streets of Birkenhead, due to the type of load, route, and requirements for unloading.

Man with connections to Birkenhead sought by police

Derbyshire Constabulary is appealing for information after a convict has failed to return to HMP Sudbury.

The force is appealing for information after a convict has failed to return to HMP Sudbury. Robert David Salinger did not return after a period of release from the open prison on 29 June.

The 36-year-old was convicted at Manchester Crown Court in October 2020 and sentenced to 4 years’ imprisonment.

Police visit Foxfield School as part of ‘Safer Schools’ initiative

Local Policing Officers from Team Wallasey attended Foxfield School in Woodchurch this week.

The students enjoyed exploring two Merseyside Police vehicles and were very inquisitive.

A police spokesperson said, “The students had lots of interesting questions for our Local PCSOs and Police Officers and were a pleasure to meet.”

Next of kin appeal – Paul John Fegan

Can you help trace the next-of-kin of a person from Wirral who has passed away?

We are appealing on behalf of the Coroner’s Office for information to help trace the next of kin of a Wirral man. 

58-year-old Paul John Fegan sadly died at his home on Imperial Avenue, Wallasey on Sunday 25 June. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Police recover stolen caravan in Rock Ferry

After numerous complaints from the public transport network, Travelsafe officers have been to Grove Road in Rock Ferry to seize a caravan on suspicion of being stolen.

A police spokesperson said, “Thank you to Wirral and we hope we’ve made your journey easier, you said, we did.”

Youths steal electric bike from man cycling on Wirral Way

Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery in Neston.

At around 10.15pm on Friday 24 June, a 38-year-old man was riding an S-Works Turbo Levo 2022 Gen 3 Ghost Gravity electric bike from Willaston towards Neston on the Wirral Way near to Lees Lane car park when five youths approached him.

One of the boys grabbed the bike before another pushed the victim to the ground.

Next of kin appeal – Barry Meering

Can you help trace the next-of-kin of a person from Wirral who has passed away?

We are appealing on behalf of the Coroner’s Office for information to help trace the next of kin of a Wirral man. 

Barry Meering, 70 years, sadly died at his home on Marshlands Road, Wallasey on 17 June.
