Wirral men jailed for heroin and crack cocaine supply

Two men responsible for bringing crack cocaine and heroin to Ellesmere Port from Merseyside have been jailed.

Dale Johnson, 30, of Tranmere and Stephen Sailes, 45, of Great Sutton appeared at Chester Crown Court on Thursday 10 March where they pleaded guilty and were sentenced for their roles in the drug supply.

Johnson was handed three years and 10 months while Sailes received three years and four months imprisonment.

Arrest in Woodchurch assault case

Merseyside Police has arrested a 34-year-old man from Wirral on suspicion of assault. He is currently in custody where he will be questioned by detectives.

At around 5.50pm, emergency services were called to Church Lane in Woodchurch after a man was found unconscious in the street after being assaulted.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.

Man armed with knife attempts to rob Wallasey shop

Merseyside Police has issued CCTV images of a man we believe may have information that could assist an investigation into an attempted robbery at a shop in Wallasey last month.

At about 10.15pm on Saturday 5 February, a man entered the Shop Local store on Borough Road and approached the member of staff at the till holding a knife.

He demanded he hand over cash, before making off on foot empty-handed.

Van seized in Woodchurch

This vehicle was seized by officers from Team Wallasey on the Woodchurch estate.

It was being driven without insurance and MOT. The driver did not have a licence. The driver was reported for all three offences.

£6,000 stolen in Neston distraction burglary

Police investigating a distraction burglary in Neston are appealing for information from the public.

On the afternoon of Saturday 12 March 2022, a male knocked at the door of a house on Smithy Close, Neston.

While he spoke to the homeowner in the garden, another man entered the house and stole a number of items including a quantity of jewellery, a large amount of cash and a safe.

Wirral man banned from Moreton following violent behaviour

A 41-year-old man from Wirral has been issued with a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order that prevents him from entering parts of Moreton after several incidents of violent behaviour towards staff and harassment of women in the area.

Martin Thomas is banned from entering defined areas of Moreton and from being on any Merseyrail train, station or footbridge.

The order will run until 13 March 2024 and was issued to Thomas at Wirral Magistrates Court this week when he pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and a Section 5 public order offence.

Van siezed in Birkenhead

This van was seized on Cavendish Street in Birkenhead.

The driver was uninsured and was reported for the offence.

Car used at Bromborough ‘car meets’ seized in Woodchurch

Merseyside Police has been working to reduce anti-social vehicle use at arranged car meets taking place in Bromborough.

This activity has been taking place over a period of months and it is generating a large volume of calls from the community.

A police spokesperson said, “Locals to Bromborough are being harassed by the anti-social driving conducted by those involved in the car meets.”
