Wirral man charged with cocaine and cannabis supply offences

A Wirral man has been charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and cannabis using the dark web.

Thomas Jefferson Hawkes, 29 years, of Claughton was charged with conspiracy to supply class A and Class B drug.

Hawkes was remanded into custody after appearing at Wirral Magistrates Court on 8 December. The case has now been referred to Liverpool Crown Court for trial on 5 January 2022.

The charge forms part of the Merseyside Police response to Operation Venetic: a national investigation into the use of encrypted mobile devices, commonly referred to as Encrochat.
