Wirral Council owned outdoor education centre named as one of The Best Residential Experiences in the UK

Outdoor education centre, Conway Centres, has been shortlisted by schools as one of The Best Residential Experience in the UK, in this year’s School Travel Organiser awards.

Edsential’s Conway Centres, which is partially owned by Wirral Council and Cheshire West and Chester Council, has four residential centres located across Cheshire and North Wales.

Every year Conway Centres welcomes over 20,000 school children and young people to enjoy a residential visit full of real-life true adventure and immersive cultural arts.

The annual School Travel Awards recognise the very best companies, venues and attractions providing school trips whilst raising the profile and importance of school trips for children. The Conway Centres were nominated by schools who have enjoyed a residential experience at either their Burwardsley, Delamere, Tattenhall or Anglesey centre.

Nick McCavish, Head of Conway Centres, said, “We feel honoured to have been nominated by our schools as one of The Best Residential Experiences.

“At Conway Centres we pride ourselves on our high-quality outdoor adventure & cultural residential courses which empower, inspire, challenge and develop young people, making an educational and life-changing difference. It is great to hear our schools really do appreciate and believe in everything we do for children and young people.”

Ian McGrady, Managing Director of Edsential said, “After a tough couple of years for the outdoor education sector, we are so pleased to have been nominated by our schools for this award. During the closures, we ensured that schools incurred no financial loss if their trip was cancelled, and it has been great to finally welcome them back this academic year for their long-awaited residential.

!A huge thank you to our experienced team, who all come from and understand education – they provide children and young people with such memorable experiences on a daily basis. We are really proud of the whole team.”

The winner of the award will be announced on 25 May 2022. To find out more about Conway Centres please visit www.conwaycentres.co.uk
