Wirral Chamber Music Festival returns for fourth year

Now in its fourth year, Wirral Chamber Music Festival brings a wealth of musical talent to community venues across the Wirral.

On Friday, 28 June, the Leenhardt Trio perform an evening of exquisite French music played on harp, flute, and viola in the beautiful acoustic of St Mary’s Church, Eastham.

On Saturday evening Stravinsky’s ‘A Soldier’s Tale’ is narrated by international opera star, and self-styled ‘Scouse Diva’, Jennifer Johnston in the Jubilee Centre, Wallasey.

Among lunchtime attractions, there is a concert by the festival’s own Youth String Quartet in Birkenhead’s Williamson Gallery on Saturday, 29 June at 11.30, and a show for all the family in Neston Town Hall on Sunday, 30 June at 11.30.

The award-winning multi-instrumentalists Kabantu close the festival in style with a programme inspired by folk music from around the globe on Sunday, 30 June at 7pm at Heswall Hall.

Details of all the concerts and tickets are available at www.wirralchamberfest.co.uk. The Festival’s Artistic Director is Thelma Handy, leader of the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
