A multi-agency search was mounted after multiple reports of sounds of a single whistle and cries for help across the lake towards Tansky rocks.
During the extensive search, West Kirby RNLI lifeboat was tasked to the lake, the station’s all-terrain vehicle searched the beach along with the Coastguard and fire service.
The volunteer crew completed a further extended searched around the moorings.
Once the lifeboat had searched the lake, it was then recovered to search the tide line on the west of Hilbre north and south supported by the Coastguard teams who searched the islands and surrounding area. The police helicopter was also used to assist the search, but nothing was located.
