Wirral Sea Angling Academy (WSAA) CIC and Supporting the Peeps Wirral CIC have organised a well-being walk for Thursday 14 July.
Ben Koba from WSAA told birkenhead.news, “It’s to help tackle social isolation and hopefully improve people’s mental health.”
Anyone wishing to attend is asked to meet at the steps of Wallasey Town Hall at noon. Ben said “We’ll break up into smaller groups and have a stroll around for an hour, make some new friends, talk about whatever is bothering you, whatever is on your mind.”
Ben will also be telling people about sea fishing and will offer the opportunity for people to attend a sea fishing event at a future date.
The walk is accessible and will last about an hour and Ben assures attendees that “it won’t be physically exerting.”
Ben continued by saying, “Then after the walk, we’ll go down to the beach, and have a free BBQ with a chance to socialise some more and see how we can help.”
In conclusion, Ben said, “Wirral Sea Angling Academy CIC is not just concerned with fishing, we also want to promote community cohesion and to help people socialise who normally wouldn’t get the chance. We want to promote positive mental health for one and all.”
If you would like to take part, meet at 12 noon on Thursday 14 July at the steps of Wallasey Town Hall. The BBQ is free but donations are welcomed. You can just turn up on the day, but Ben is asking people to contact him so he knows how much food to prepare. You can email Ben at w.s.a.a.bkh@gmail.com or contact him by text or call on 07534748806
