Warriors athletes qualify for Team GB

The Warriors continue to grow and expand, as young athletes learn more and more about what they do.

Starting from their free introductory cross country sessions in a muddy field in September 2022, they have taken athletes such as Jasmine Rogan to two British titles and a qualification for the GB team in Bali in November 2023.

Locally this week, on Wednesday, the Warriors did the double at the Seaside 5k, as their young teenage athletes won both the senior races.

For Isla Pastor, it was her second win of the series, and for Obe Kearney, it was the first time he has raced in the event this year, and he took the opportunity to show how fast he has become over the winter.

At the weekend the Warriors had a small squad at the World Triathle qualifiers in Dorset. Triathle is an exciting combination of running, swimming and shooting.

Crack shot Jasmine Rogan won the event outright, adding the British Triathle title to her British Laser Run title from earlier this year. In doing so she earned automatic qualification to compete for GB in Bali this November.

Jasmine is joined by Meg Hoshiko who finished 4th in her age group, also earning automatic qualification for the team. Annabelle Rogan and Ella Boden both landed 1st reserve spots and now face an anxious wait to see if they get called up.

Any young swimmers or athletes who would like to aim for a GB vest and join the fastest-growing junior club on the Wirral should contact Ronan at www.runwirral.uk
