Earlier this week, young athletes from multi-sport club the Warriors had a busy Wednesday evening, as they split their efforts between a Lenten challenge and the famous Wirral Seaside 5k.
First up were the boys on Wednesday afternoon, where Sam Clarke, Michael Phelan, and Oberon Kearney each ran 26.2km in support of the Disasters Emergency Committee.
They ran as part of the St Anselms Lenten challenge, and the whole team of seven under Dr Cooper has now raised over £700 by Friday morning.
Next up were the girls at the Wirral Seaside run that starts by Leasowe Lighthouse. The junior Warriors were up against a field of over 200 senior athletes, but twins Eve and Isobel Beddow and team mate Isla Pastor, (aged just 11 and 13) took a podium clean sweep in the women’s 5k race, running the incredible times of 18.04, 18.09 and 18.10.
This weekend the Warriors will be competing in the Liverpool Harriers Open meeting at Wavertree, and the medal meeting at Trafford.
