Wallasey and District Sunday Football League round-up, 5 March 2023

The second leg fixtures of the Magee Cup semi-finals saw One O’Clock Gun and PLCCFC progress to the final which will be held at Cammell Laird 1907 FC on 19 March with an 11am kick off.

PLCCFC overcame a 2-1 first-leg deficit to beat Vineyard 4-2 for a 5-4 aggregate win. Bagging the goals were Danny Hardman (2), Matty Beaman, and Dan Morning, with the replies coming from Daz Winders and Ryan Slater in a very competitive fixture.

Opponents for the final will be One O’Clock Gun following their 3-2 defeat of Liscard Panthers to secure an overall 4-2 success as Nathan Johnson scored a single and Morgan Galer bagged a brace. Liam Stephens and Dale Crawford netted the responses.

In the MES Ltd First Division, Trident went into top spot following their hard-fought 3-2 victory over Wallasey Wanderers thanks to an own goal and singles from Michel Mocha and Sam Bonner, as Matty Madden and Connor Lloyd-Jones replied for Wanderers.

Despite Connor Edwards giving JASGA FC an early lead they shared the spoils with Bromborough Town as Sonny James scored a second-half equaliser in this 1-1 encounter.

The delayed Capitol Cup second-round fixture between Ellesmere Port Red Lions and Barnston FC ended in a 2-2 draw, due to Hayden Sinclair and Pedro Demetriou scoring for Lions and Tim Campbell and George Wilson netting for Barnston, who won the penalty shoot-out 4-3 to go into the last eight.

A very evenly fought Dutchman Cup semi-final resulted in a slender 2-1 success for Shore Villa over Farmers Arms as Mark Houston fired home a fine double, with Mike Jenkinson being the lone scorer for Farmers. Villa will now await opponents for the final on 26 March.

Only one fixture in the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division ended in a 3-1 verdict for Shore Villa Athletic as they beat North West Harriers and moved top of the division due to goals from Tom Kuwley, Jason Farrell and Charlie Roberts with Connor Reeves bagging the consolation.
