The Dutchman Cup Final played at Cammell Laird FC’s ground saw Shore Villa overcome club compatriots Shore Villa Athletic in a frantic finish that saw three late goals decide the contest.
Scores were level 0-0 at the break following some wayward efforts failing to hit the net, but in the final ten minutes, Villa netted through Connor Hodson and Sam Range, with an unfortunate own goal completing the scoring for them to sink Athletic 3-0.
This despite an excellent performance by Athletic’s goalie Dan Rimmer making some exceptional saves to earn his man of the match award. MoM award for Villa went to Carl Boyd as he put in a magnificent shift in an eagerly contested game.
Farmers Arms ploughed their way to the top of the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division with an emphatic 8-1 result over Park Royal, whose lone scorer was Josh Mann. Hitting the net for Arms were Mike Jenkinson, Liam Pitt, Alex Martin, Ben Gerrard, Danny Lewis, Sam Gerrard, and two goals from Alex Clarke in a great team performance.
The Ellesmere Port Red Lions versus Wallasey Wolves fixture ended in stalemate as they drew 1-1, with Pedro Demetrio netting for Lions and Danny Power scoring his first goal for Wolves in a tight contest.
Although Matty Beaman netted a double for PLCCFC, they were beaten 3-2 by Wallasey Wanderers in the only fixture in the MES Ltd First Division, thanks to efforts from Matty Madden, James Moreton, and Connor Jackson earning the points for Wanderers.
In the Capitol Cup third round games, Trident went nap against West Kirby Athletic when winning 5-1 as Michal Mocha bagged a hat-trick and Carl Murphy and Jake Williams netted a goal apiece, with the consolation coming from Dylan Thomas. A solitary Gary Winders goal was enough for Vineyard to eliminate One O’Clock Gun and progress into the semi-finals in a very even affair that saw few chances.
