Wallasey and District Sunday Football League round-up, 10 September 2023

Shore Villa Athletic inflicted a first defeat on Barnston FC in the Moreton Alarms Supplies Second Division as they triumphed 1-0 with a goal from Michael Jeffs sealing victory.

Ellesmere Port Red Lions continued their fine form with a 6-1 defeat of Wallasey Wolves thanks to a hat-trick from Josh Worsley and singles from Shay Turpin, Harry Brassey, and Liam Sparks.

The only unbeaten team in the division is leaders Shore Villa as they overcame New Brighton Town 5-0, due to efforts from Ben Windle (2), Dave Sadler, Conor Hallwood, and Mark Houston, and are three points clear at the top.

Also easing home 5-0 were North West Harriers, as Alex McDowell netted twice and Andy Taylor, Luke Roberts, and Adam Pickering all netted singles.

FC Greasby gained three well-earned points in their 3-2 victory over Bromborough Athletic, thanks to Paddy Killen, Paul Devey, and Harrison Sherlock bagging a goal apiece, with Sean Holt and Lewis Holt hitting the replies.

One O’Clock Gun regained top spot in the MES Ltd First Division following their 4-1 success against West Kirby Athletic, courtesy of goals from Owen McMahon, Ben Morris, Paul Finn, and Leighton Clarke as Seb Pierce notched the consolation effort.

Vineyard went level second after beating AFC Shore Villa 3-1, with goals from Nathan Millar and a brace from Ryan Slater. Tom Rowlands hit the lone response.

Wallasey Wanderers found their way in a 4-0 victory over Farmers Arms as Declan Netherton claimed a double and both Matty Madden and Macauley Lathom fired singles.

PLCCFC bowled over Oldershaw FC 4-1 thanks to Jordan Chwalko, Luca Murtagh, Jack Jones, and Ciaran Gregory finding the net, with Liam Stephens hitting the only reply.
