Birkenhead live music venue Future Yard is hosting a Ukraine Solidarity Fundraiser gig on Wednesday 16 March.
Merseyside mega-star Zuzu headlines the evening, supported by Belarusian-born, Liverpool-based, rapper Russell and nostalgic-pop duo Dreampark.
A statement issued by the venue reads: “Supporting our community through live music is at the heart of what we do at Future Yard, and we are always grateful for the opportunity to share this passion with you all. Music, and the arts in general, can only thrive in free nations, so seeing communities in other parts of the world struggling for peace is affecting us deeply.
“As the conflict in Ukraine continues, we would like to extend our support to the country’s citizens and the Ukrainian communities in Merseyside with this fundraiser concert on 16 March with the aim to celebrate, and show solidarity with, the people of Ukraine.
“All proceeds from the gig will go to Help Ukraine , a charity run by Ukrainians providing humanitarian aid to the most affected regions in the country.”
Help Ukraine is a charity run by Ukrainians for Ukrainians, providing humanitarian and medical support to the most affected regions of Ukraine. Help Ukraine supports Ukrainians in flashpoint areas that urgently need medications, food, blankets, warm clothes, and other humanitarian aid, due to usual supply chains being currently unavailable.
Financial support of the foundation goes towards the purchasing of medications and other necessary humanitarian products in Europe. You can donate to the foundation and read more about all the work it does below.
Tickets are £10, with the opportunity to donate more on the night. TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE
