Detectives investigating the seizure of cash and suspected cocaine in Knowsley last week have charged a man and a woman.
At around 3pm on Thursday 13 October, an Audi was stopped on the Knowsley Expressway on suspicion of having no insurance. The vehicle was searched and a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs were found, and the driver and passenger detained.
43-year-old Claire Dooley of Garston has now been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (heroin); and possession of cannabis.
29-year-old Patrick Campbell of no fixed abode has now been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (heroin); and acquire/use/possess
They will both next appear for sentencing on Monday 14 November after pleading guilty at court on Saturday morning, 15 October.
A 36-year-old woman from Eccles, Greater Manchester was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. She has been released under investigation.
The investigation is part of the Merseyside Organised Crime Partnership (OCP), made up of a specialist team of officers from the National Crime Agency and Merseyside Police, which was launched in April 2021 to protect the public by tacking high-risk organised crime groups.
