Two arrests after man stabbed at house in Speke

A woman and a man have been arrested following a stabbing in Liverpool in the early hours of this morning (Friday 11 August).

At around 5.30am it was reported that a man had been stabbed at an address on Hale Drive after a dispute in the house.

He was taken to hospital after sustaining wounds to his neck and face which are not life-threatening.

A woman and a man from Liverpool have been arrested on suspicion of assault. They have been taken to a police station in Merseyside where they remain in custody.

An investigation is underway and house-to-house and CCTV enquiries are ongoing in the local area. A cordon is also in place whilst officers continue forensic examinations.

Detective Inspector Chris Carlin said, “We are in the very early stages of an investigation into an incident which has left a man with a significant wound to his neck after a violent attack at a house in the area.

“Although we have made two arrests soon after the incident we are still searching for a man who was involved in the attack. If you were on Hale Drive or Hale Road in the early hours of this morning and saw the incident or anything suspicious please contact police immediately. 

“Information from our community is vital if we are to stop anyone using knives and dangerous weapons in our community to seriously harm others.

“Such crimes are violent, unacceptable and can cause fear on our streets. Our local officers remain in the area and are committed to removing anyone who uses such weapons in our community.”
