Two arrested for Class A drugs offences in Birkenhead

Merseyside Police has arrested two men for drugs offences in Birkenhead.

Two males were arrested for drug offences by police officers from the Wirral Target Team, following the observation of a drug transaction between them near to Birkenhead Central Library.

The first male suspect, aged 37, attempted to flee from the patrol but was apprehended and subsequently arrested for Possession with Intent to Supply Class A Drugs. A suspected quantity of Heroin and Cocaine was recovered at the scene and later in custody.

The second male suspect, aged 51, was arrested nearby for Possession of a Class A Controlled Drug, after suspected Heroin was found on his person.
