Trustees needed to help shape the future of Birkenhead Scouts

Birkenhead Scouts are on the hunt for some do-ers and give-it-a-goers to help our District Commissioner and their team to provide amazing Skills For Life and Prepare Better Futures for even more Young People in Birkenhead.

Whether you’ve got Scouting skills, experience in the education or youth work sector, business management knowledge or you’re simply good with numbers… we could use you on our amazing, dedicated team of Trustees. Our Trustees help us set the strategic direction of the District, help us identify areas of improvement and allocate our finances. You might also sit on one of our sub-committees or help one of our local Scout Groups improve their governance. The possibilities are endless.

Volunteering with The Scouts really is Good For You too, 84% of UK Adults surveyed said that The Scouts gives you skills to use later in life, so if you’re looking to develop yourself, get exposure to the third sector or simply give something back to your local community then this is the role for you.

Matt Jones, Trustee and District Commissioner said “Being a Trustee has really given me an excellent insight into how to run a busy, dynamic business and has helped to develop some skills I use in my day job now. It’s also allowed me to really champion the development of Young People across the different communities in which we work and look at how we can work with even more Young People in the future. It’s been a really good experience and I’d recommend it to anyone!”

It’s a flexible time commitment and our Trustees meet for around 2 hours every other month with the occasional commitment in-between meetings. But if you’ve got more time to give then that’s even better!
