Midfielder Danny Lloyd has been awarded this year’s PFA Community Champion for all his works towards Tranmere Rovers in the Community this season.
Lloyd has been a prominent face in the community this year as he supported the Club’s, You vs Train campaign, and #SWA2 programme competitions.
The popular number 35 has also personally reached out to a young fan who is bravely battling cancer to offer his support. Lloyd has also sent out a care package full of toys and a signed t-shirt.
Speaking to Lloyd upon receiving his award, he said: “I’m really pleased to have won, it’s a really nice thing to have and be able to look back on especially at a really big Club like this. To have such a good connection with the fans and community it’s superb.
“At a Club like this the team is the epicenter of the community and the Club is a massive focal point, and we are a release for a lot of people especially in these tough times.
“For me to come so late on in the season and have the connection I do is so important to me, and I’m really pleased with that. Through the really tough times, strong relationships are built and I feel like this group of players have a really good relationship with the fans and community and anytime we can help as a group we will”
