Tranmere to dedicate Crawley fixture to International Women’s Day

Tranmere Rovers will dedicate their rescheduled match against Crawley Town to International Women’s Day 2023.

Members of the Tranmere Rovers Women’s First Team will participate in a crossbar challenge on the field and to support the advancement of women’s football at Tranmere Rovers, will hold a bucket collection before the game to raise funds.

The team from Wirral Grammar School for Girls who recently won their EFL Utilita Girls Cup Area Final will be attending the game as flag bearers ahead of their Regional Final later the same week.

In the run-up to the match, interviews with key women associated with Tranmere Rovers will be conducted, including perspectives from a fan, a player, and a club staff member.

There will also be a chance to hear from Tranmere’s #HerGameToo representatives, who work to ensure football is everyone’s game. By working closely with the #HerGameToo campaign, the club hopes to send a message to all women thinking of coming to a match that it is committed to ensuring Prenton Park is a safe and welcoming environment for all supporters.

Additionally, there will be a special playlist celebrating International Women’s Day playing out around Prenton Park ahead of the game and at half time.
