Tranmere sign Brad Walker from Port Vale

Tranmere Rovers has announced the signing of Brad Walker from Port Vale for an undisclosed fee.

The midfielder arrives at the Club from Vale Park having played an influential part in the Valiants’ promotion from Sky Bet League Two during the 2021/22 campaign.

After coming through the ranks at Hartlepool United, he went on to make 107 appearances for the Pool before joining Crewe in 2017.

The 26-year-old has experience in Sky Bet League One having made 23 appearances for Shrewsbury Town in the 2019/20 season before the season was cut short by Covid, and 27 appearances the following season.

This campaign, he has played ten times in a strong Port Vale team, before arriving at Prenton Park this January and signs a contract until the summer of 2025.

Manager Micky Mellon said, “For a while, we’ve been looking for players of Brad’s size and physicality in the midfield areas. We believe that is what is needed to help bring this group along. He ticks all of the boxes to do that.

“He also knows what it takes to work your way out of this division and brings that experience into the dressing room here. We’re delighted that he has joined us and we can’t wait to start working with him.”
