Tranmere Rovers Women’s Team announce Marc Joyce as first-team manager

Tranmere Rovers Women’s team has announced Marc Joyce as the new first-team manager.

Marc recently came back to Wirral after eight years in America where he worked full time in the women’s game and is now looking to bring his experience and skillset to Tranmere.

Joining Marc as part of his coaching team will be former Tranmere Rovers Women’s player, Lynn Carter and current Scotland international, Ellis Dalgliesh.

Lynn has been part of Tranmere Women’s team for more than 25 years where she has played a role as both a player and coach and will be continuing as Assistant Manager as part of the new coaching team.

Ellis is currently Head Physiotherapist for the Tranmere Rovers Academy team and has played for Celtic, Rangers, Durham, Hearts and has 23 caps for Scotland.

Louise Edwards, Head of Women’s Football at Tranmere Rovers, she said:“I would like to welcome both Marc and Ellis. They both bring experience of working in various fields across the women’s game.

“They are ambitious coaches and are keen to move our women’s team forward whilst still providing our younger players the opportunity & right environment to play first team football. With Lynn on board too, I’m really excited for the future of our women’s team and I’m looking forward to seeing them develop and move forward.“

Marc will start his Tranmere Rovers journey straight away by preparing for the upcoming season and pre-season matches.

He said:“I’m excited to get going, it’s been a good week meeting with the staff, Louise, Lynn, Ellis and I’m just raring to get out there now, meet the girls and get out on that training pitch.

I’ve been involved in women’s football for the last eight years, so it’s been a passion of mine and having moved back to the Wirral in 2020, it’s the perfect match up really.

“I want to win games of football, which will be the primary focus. We will have our philosophy in place that will have a few non-negotiables but we will be tactically flexible based on our own group and the groups we come up against but as a first team our focus will be on winning games for football.”

Tranmere Rovers Women’s are now recruiting for the 2021/22 season, for more details please email
