Tranmere Rovers have delivered 75 food hampers to Co-op Academy Portland in Birkenhead, Riverside Primary in Seacombe, and Christ Church CE Primary, also in Birkenhead, over the last week to help parents who are struggling to provide for their children get through the festive period.
The deliveries were part of our Super White Christmas campaign, where we will be helping deliver over 150 parcels to families in need during the festive period.
Mrs Tolcher of Co-op Academy Portland said, “Once again Tranmere Rovers have been amazing and helped our community out.
“We need it more than ever this year. We’ve had that many parents come to us in tears, another one this morning, and without Tranmere Rovers, we’d be stuck.
“It makes a massive, massive difference to our community.
“Tranmere Rovers are our lifesaver. We have a lot of charities that help us but they are the staple.”
Tranmere Rovers is still taking donations of toys/gifts for people of all ages up to the value of £20.00. They can only distribute gifts that are brand new and in their original packaging. Don’t worry about wrapping them – Tranmere will do that once they’ve sorted them into age categories.
Adults experiencing loneliness, homelessness or those needing some festive cheer are invited to join Tranmere for a hot meal and entertainment. A match ticket for othe game against Doncaster Rovers is also included. To book onto this event, please contact Tranmere Rovers in the Community by emailing community@tranmererovers.co.uk
