Tranmere Rovers Open Day a huge success

Hundreds of Tranmere Rovers supporters turned out in force for what was a successful Open Day at Prenton Park on Sunday.

With a wide range of fun activities and events for those in attendance to participate in, it was a guaranteed afternoon to remember.

Manager Micky Mellon and his team had their official 2021/22 squad photograph taken with a packed Argyle Satellite Taxi KOP Stand behind them.

Tranmere Bake Off returned, Tranmere Rovers in the Community ran football sessions in the Recreation Centre, the squad signed autographs for supporters and key personnel from the Club shared an insight into their day-to-day jobs, plus much more.

Sky Sports News and Channel Four were both in attendance at the Open Day, and overall, it was a huge success for the football club as preparation continues for the start of the 2021/22 league season against Walsall.

Vice-Chair Nicola Palios said,

It has been brilliant after such a long time with fans being away from the stadium. The weather has been kind and people turned up in their numbers, so it is nice to have that feeling of normality again.

We have had some great Open Days in recent years, and this was the same. We tried to make it so there were activities to do for everybody but also important activities such as teaching people how to use defibrillator machines.”

Goalkeeper and Club captain, Scott Davies, was also in attendance and participated in a signing session alongside his teammates after the squad photo.

Davies said, “After what we have all been through over the past 18 months, we missed the fans greatly last year and to see them come back for the Open Day ahead of the new season was brilliant.

“We are just as excited as them now for the new season to start. Our supporters are a huge part of our success. The Open Day felt like normality and we are counting down the days to the start of the season, and seeing Prenton Park rocking again, it will be some feeling.”
