Tranmere Rovers Legends to meet Wirral Radio FC in charity football match

Tranmere Rovers Legends, the revered football heroes of yesteryear, will face off against Wirral Radio FC in a highly anticipated charity football match.

On Saturday 20 May, the match will take place at Ashville Football Club with an admission fee of £6 per person, all of which will go New Ferry based The Martin Gallier Project.

Tranmere Rovers Legends and Wirral Radio FC have come together to raise awareness and financial support for The Martin Gallier Project – a local organization that offers critical counselling and suicide prevention assistance to those in need. The event seeks to underscore the importance of mental health and the power of collective action in making a difference.

Fans of football and supporters of both teams can look forward to a rare chance to witness their favorite idols in action once more. The Tranmere Rovers Legends, consisting of legendary players who have graced the hallowed Prenton Park field, will exhibit their expertise, finesse, and unmatched enthusiasm for the sport.

In addition to the captivating football match, attendees can enjoy various entertainment and activities throughout the day. There will be raffles, merchandise stands, and the opportunity to meet and greet the Tranmere Rovers Legends.

Adam Siddorn, the Events and Fundraising Lead at The Martin Gallier Project, expressed gratitude for the support received, stating, “This is our 9th annual charity match raising money for local charities. It’s an honour to raise money this year for The Martin Gallier Project in the name of our friend Kieran who took his own life in 2019.”

“To know that we are supporting a charity who are saving people’s lives across Wirral daily makes us extremely proud. We can’t put into words how grateful we are for the support these events have been given by Tranmere Rovers and the SWA.”

“We hope to see you all at Ashville Football Club on Saturday 20 May.”
