Tranmere Rovers delivers 100 shirts to local school

Tranmere Rovers in the Community along with Club partner’s Essar, have been working together to strengthen and widen their support with schools in the Cheshire area.

To kick start their relationship, the club has delivered more than 100 2019/20 replica shirts to pupils from Westminster Community Primary.

Head Teacher of Westminster Community Primary School in Ellesmere Port, Sue, said, “I think football shirts as a gift are absolutely superb, especially the timing with going on summer holiday and after a tough year for them. This just kick starts the relationship between the school and the Club.

“The pupils will be delighted and very well received, an extra t-shirt will mean the world to them and having something extra to wear especially with it have a badge of a football club they know and recognise.

“What we really like is when people learn from professionals, so people who are actually doing that job, real people. We have some great people in our school who can do the teaching and learning and are good at sports themselves but we want to learn from real players and coaches who actually do that daily so it brings it closer to life for us.”

Speaking about Tranmere and Essar working together to support local schools she said, “That’s the way a community should be, a school, a local Club, and business’ and then we are raising the aspirations of everyone in Ellesmere Port all working together because we make a good community.” We look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with Westminster Community Primary School next term with programme deliveries and player visits.
