Tranmere Rovers Football Club has thanked everyone who attended their opening day at Beechwood Recreation Centre on Saturday 15 May.
The turnout was excellent, as the Leisure Centre, based just off Fender Way, was opened by Club Captain Scott Davies, and Chairman, Mark Palios.
Tranmere Rovers in the Community staff were on site to discuss what activities were planned, and show what facilities were available including a state-of-the-art gym,
Steve Williams, TRIC’s Community Development Officer, said, “The response has been fantastic so far, both before and with those in attendance, we’re really enthusiastic as everyone’s been great and we’re really looking forward to working with them.
“It’s also been great being able to see so many of the local community here attending to have a look around the facility and engaging with people.”
Working in a partnership with Wirral Borough Council, Tranmere Rovers have been hard at work to help develop a number of community assets, including the Beechwood Recreation Centre, where Tranmere Rovers in the Community will be hosting a number of engaging activities and sessions each week for people to get involved in.
TRFC Managing Director, Dawn Tolcher, spoke about what the centre is bringing to the community; “We’re hoping that the Beechwood Centre is going to be vibrant enough for a lot of different activities that will be suitable for a wide range of the community including opportunities in education, our brand new gym and all different classes and exercises for a real mix of activities that people can enjoy.”
