Tomorrow’s Women Wirral to hold Violence Against Women and Girls event

Tomorrow’s Women (TW) is a charity led by women for women. They offer any adult woman who is aged 18+ a safe and female-only environment where they can access advice, support and guidance to make positive lifestyle changes.

Tomorrow’s Women aims to help women make these lifestyle changes by reducing the personal, social, health and economic disadvantages women face by working in partnership with other agencies and organisations.

Tomorrow’s Women offers support to women who have suffered domestic abuse, with in-house courses to help them set healthy boundaries for the future and allow them to build confidence. They also have solicitors who specialise in this area should women need that kind of support.

Women’s mental health and wellbeing is at the forefront of the centre, offering group sessions around stress and anxiety as well as holistic approaches such as yoga and meditation. They also have a counsellor on-site offering free counselling sessions.

Tomorrow’s Women Wirral are holding its annual Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Event at their site at Beckwith Street East in Birkenhead on the 24 November from 1pm till 3pm. This a female only, 18+ event which consists of stall holders, guest speakers, and interactive activities throughout the afternoon. Food is included.

The Merseyside Police Crime and Commissioner will be opening the event, along with having speakers such as RASA and Merseyside Police. Organisations such as Catch 22, Red Umbrella and Sahir House, plus many more will have stalls that women can browse as well as asking them for support.

There will also be a performance from the TW creative group as well as spoken word. This event aims to raise awareness for the issues surrounding Violence Against Women and Girls, as well as showing the women where they can go for different types of support if need be.
