Tomorrow’s Women (TW) is an award-winning, trauma-informed charity and company. TW offer all adult women aged 18+ a safe, female-only environment to integrate, and share the complexities of their lives and receive specialist support to address these issues.
The Charity’s purpose is to deliver a comprehensive, women-centred approach to minimise female offending.
TW aim to do this by reducing the personal, social, health and economic disadvantages experienced by women through working in partnership to improve access to all relevant services and community resources.
The first Centre, in Birkenhead, was established in 2011 and based on the principles set out in the Corston Report 2007.
TW work alongside The Probation Service and many other partner agencies to deliver courses, one-to-one sessions, workshops, etc., to assist women to better lives.
Following on from the success of the first Centre, where there are just under 12,000 women registered, funding has now been obtained from The National Lottery Fund, Lloyds Bank Foundation, the Police & Crime Commissioner of Cheshire, and Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Tomorrow’s Women has opened a second centre in Chester using the same successful model.
On Thursday 16 February 2023, Tomorrow’s Women – Chester was officially launched by Sally Morgan from the Steve Morgan Foundation, who presented a cheque for £143,930.
The event was well attended by many strategic leads and community leaders, including the Lord and Lady Mayoress of Chester and local MP Samantha Dixon. A welcome speech was given by Angela Murphy CEO, along with women who have utilised the service. The whole event was so motivational.
Angela Murphy CEO said, “So excited and proud to have launched our second Women’s Centre. Women from Cheshire West and Chester area now have a safe, welcoming Centre where they can focus on themselves and improve their lives. A huge thank you to our wonderful Staff Team, Board of Trustees, Funders, Commissioners, Partners, and Supporters for making this happen”.
The new Centre is based on Upper Northgate Street, Chester CH1 4EE.
