Merseyside Police Officers have arrested one man from Seacombe and two others from Tranmere after Class A drugs, a pellet gun, cash and knives were found at two separate addresses in Wirral.
On Wednesday 30 November officers in plain clothing spotted a man on Argyle Street South acting suspiciously. Officers detained the man after he tried to run away down the road and found several wraps of brown powder suspected to be Heroin.
A 31-year-old man from Tranmere was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to sell Class A drugs and was taken to a police station for questioning.
Officers then searched an address on Argyle Street South and seized a large quantity of white and brown powder, hidden underneath a sofa, suspected to be Crack Cocaine and Heroin.
Officers arrested a 46-year-old woman from Tranmere who was inside the property on suspicion of possession with intent to sell Class A drugs.
Both were questioned by police and released under investigation after the incident to enable additional work to be conducted on the drugs recovered. This is standard practice and includes forensic examinations of the drugs and phones that have been seized.
The following day on Friday 3 December at around 12.45pm officers on Sandon Road in Egremont stopped a man acting suspiciously in the area.
Officers seized Class B drugs, a phone and cash when they detained and searched the man.
A further search of an address on Brighton Street uncovered vacuum bags filled with cannabis, suspected Class A drugs, axes, knives, hammers, more than £4,500 in cash and a high-powered pellet gun.
The 40-year-old man from Seacombe was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to sell Class A drugs.
He was taken to a police station and Merseyside and was later bailed with conditions.
Inspector Darren Wallace said, “These arrests in Wirral show how our officers are continuing to use various tactics to disrupt serious and organised crime in our region.
“By removing such a significant amount of drugs and dangerous weapons from properties in the area we can bring those that attempt to destroy and harm our communities to justice.“We hope that the vigilance and relentless work of our officers over the past week shows our continued commitment in targeting anyone involved in organised crime in Wirral.”
