Speaking after the arrests, Community Policing Chief Inspector Tom Welch said, “Today’s activity is a culmination of a long-running operation, targeting suspected organised crime groups who we believe have been causing a significant impact on the Wirral and beyond.
“All of those arrested will now be taken to police stations to be interviewed by detectives.
“We recognise the harm that such groups cause in our communities, through the drugs supplied and the violence that can be the result. We’re committed to targeting those we suspect are involved, and safeguarding those who are exploited.
“Information from our communities can be absolutely vital in such investigations, so help us remove harm from the streets. If you suspect drugs are being stored or supplied where you are, contact us via @MerPolCC or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 and we will do the rest.”
