Residents in some areas of West Wirral will receive notification regarding temporary modifications to bin collections during The Open Golf Championship.
The Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake is set to host one of the world’s largest sporting events, attracting tens of thousands of daily visitors from 16 to 23 July.
Letters are now going out to residents in Hoylake, West Kirby, and Meols who will have their bin collection day changed that week only to let them know of the new collection day.
Collections will return to their usual schedule from 24 July.
Residents are asked to have their bins out at their usual collection point by 7am on the rearranged day and to help ease congestion to ensure that bins are safely stored off the pavement once they have been emptied.
The rearranged bin collections could be completed by a different crew than the usual one. However, if a bin collection is missed, residents are asked to report this to the council via the website as soon as possible at: www.wirral.gov.uk/recycling
