Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service (MFRS) attended a fire on Millbank Road in Liscard during the evening of Friday 7 April and Merseyside Police is appealing for information as the fire is suspected arson.
Fire crews were alerted at 23.45 and three fire engines were on scene at 23.47.
On arrival, two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus (BA) were committed under rapid deployment with one rose reel jet to extinguish the fire, prevent escalation, and search the property.
This fire was in a three-storey semi-detached property. At the height of the incident two teams of two firefighters in BA, each with hose reel jets were committed and extinguished the blaze soon after.
A man in his 60s sustained injuries to his arms and required hospital treatment.
North West Ambulance Service conveyed one casualty to hospital, while MFRS crews completed a full search of the property. All persons were confirmed to be accounted for and firefighters continued damping down the scene while checking for fire spread.
It is believed the fire was started deliberately and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Following a search of the property, a large amount of cannabis was found to be growing in two rooms. The property was made safe and the Merseyside Police Cannabis Dismantling Team (CDT) seized all items.
