Cammell Laird 1907 FC first team played host to Winsford United last night and carried on their fine form on Saturday as they gained full points in a very good display.
First half action saw Lairds flying as James Eaton rifled home yet another superb free kick from outside of the box on eleven minutes.
Then Ben Summers opened his account with two well-taken goals in the 19th and 24th minutes to put Lairds well in the driving seat and saw them 3-0 ahead at the break.
The second half started in similar fashion and Summers completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute as Lairds dominated.
Kieran Hamm was unlucky when the visiting keeper palmed away his great header to prevent a good goal.
However, a cross-cum-shot by Dave Short in the 65th minute eluded everyone to give United hope and ten minutes later Adam Barlow netted a second to reduce the arrears and produce a final 15 minutes that saw both teams searching for more goals, but the end result stayed at 4-2 in favour of Lairds to claim their first victory so far.
Their next game is away to Eccleshall on Saturday, 3pm kick off.
The reserves played their second fixture on Monday and netted four goals again as they swept aside Groves Athletic in emphatic fashion as Kieran Hughes bagged two more goals to his tally, with Luke Burns and Aaron Bunclarke netting a goal apiece in a great team effort that could have yielded even more goals.
They are now at home on Saturday versus Runcorn Sports Reserves with a 3pm kick off.
