Shots fired at house in Kirkby

Police are appealing for information after a window was shot at in Kirkby on Saturday, 30 March.

Just before 11.45pm, Mersdeyside Police received a report that a ground-floor window had been shot three times and damage caused to internal walls at the property on Dorchester Drive.

While there were three adults inside the house, there were no reports of any injuries

An investigation has been launched, and a search of the area is being carried out.

Detective Inspector Yoseph Al-Ramadhan said, “Our enquiries into the incident are in the very early stages. While we are treating it as a targeted incident, we believe it may have been a case of mistaken identity.

“I am appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Dorchester Drive at about 11.45pm last night and may have seen anything suspicious to contact us.

“Any information you provide, however, insignificant it may seem, could be vital to the investigation.

“I urge residents in the area to check your CCTV, dashcam devices or doorbell footage in case it has captured any part of this incident

Det Insp Al-Ramadhan added, “There is no place for guns on the streets of Merseyside and it is only by sheer good fortune that nobody was hurt in this incident. 

“Anyone who discharges a firearm towards a house risks causing serious injury or worse to those inside, and we will do everything in our power to bring those responsible to justice.

“We will continue to carry out warrants, stop checks, land searches and arrests to tackle gun crime, but information from the public can also prove vital. if you know where guns are being stored, I urge you to contact police or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
