Seven arrested during Birkenhead drugs swoop

Merseyside Police arrested seven people and recovered a quantity of suspected Class B drugs and cash in Birkenhead yesterday, Monday 1 August.

At around 8pm officers attended an address on Westbourne Road.

A quantity of suspected Class B drugs (cannabis) and a quantity of cash was found at the property.

Officers arrested three women aged 54, 37 and 30, one man aged 27 and three males aged 17, 17 and 16, all from Birkenhead, on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs (cannabis).

They have been taken into custody and will be questioned by police.

Merseyside Police have confirmed that the work by the dedicated targeted Police officers shows how committed they are to removing drugs and the misery that they cause from the streets of Merseyside.

A police spokesperson said, “No criminal should profit from such misery while our wider law-abiding communities work hard to earn an honest living. If you know someone in your area involved in suspected drug dealing please let us know so we can take them off our streets.”

If you have any information about drug dealing in your community please DM @Merpol CC, message ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook or call 101. Always call 999 if a crime is in progress.
