Rovers hero Connor Jennings returns to Prenton Park

Two promotions, one play-off final winner; Connor Jennings has unfinished business as he penned his return to Tranmere.

Jennings recently played for Hartlepool United, and despite his best effort with several strikes late on in the season, he couldn’t help save the Pools from relegation.

In his first spell at Prenton Park, Jennings amassed over 150 appearances in blue and white, scoring many crucial goals, but by far his most influential one was to send Tranmere up to League One back in 2019, after scoring a 119th-minute winner.

Speaking about Jennings’ arrival, Rovers boss Ian Dawes said, “Connor is someone I’m delighted to see back at Tranmere for a variety of reasons.

“Throughout his career, he has always contributed goals to his teams, and is a great character to have both in the dressing room and on the pitch.

Speaking upon his return to the Wirral peninsula, Jennings said, “I’m thrilled to be home. It’s so surreal being back, but something that I’m really looking forward to.

“I’m looking forward to a fresh start, it was a no-brainer really.”
