Renewed appeal to find driver who fled scene of collision

Officers are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision in Rock Ferry where the driver of a car drove off after the incident.

At around 6.50pm on Monday 18 September, police received a report that a car and a bike were involved in a collision on New Chester Road in Rock Ferry.

The cyclist, a 13-year-old boy, suffered bruising and a concussion and was taken to hospital to be checked over. 

The driver of the car didn’t stop at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to locate him and the vehicle.

There is no information on the details of the vehicle.

Inspector Philip McManus said, “To leave the scene of any collision is a serious matter, and we’re keen to trace the man and the car he was driving to assist our enquiries.

“Thankfully the boy who was involved in the collision did not suffer any serious injuries but was still left unconscious after the incident, therefore we are appealing to anyone who saw this to please contact us.

“If you were passing the location and saw or captured the incident, send any information, CCTV or dashcam footage to us and we will take action.”
