Police investigate assault on teenage boy in Wallasey

Merseyside Police has confirmed that officers have been in Wallasey following an incident this afternoon, Monday 27 March.

At around 4.10pm, a report was received of a teenage boy being assaulted near to The Mosslands School on Mosslands Drive.

A teenage boy was taken to hospital for treatment of a facial injury.

Chief Inspector Hamish Rawcliffe said, “We are aware of third-hand rumours in circulation of a knife being seen but I want to make it clear that these are uncorroborated by our enquiries, and that no knife was used in this incident. We are looking to establish the circumstances.

“Nonetheless, this incident has understandably caused some concern from pupils, staff, parents and carers alike.

“If you have any information or captured anyone involved on any devices, let us know immediately and we will investigate, working alongside the school.”
